Are your business systems holding you back? When small businesses with 5 staff members evolve into medium-sized businesses with 20, reporting often becomes an administrative pain point, while limitations in performance measurement prevent SMEs from assessing opportunities in depth. It's quite obvious that systems should adapt alongside businesses as they grow, but how can you tell if yours is performing well or you need an upgrade?
Here are some clear indicators that you have outgrown your systems software:
- Employee growth puts administrative pressure on your software systems.
- Turnover hits the $1 million mark and your software starts to experience difficulties.
- Growth rate goes from single to double digits. Now you need faster and greater insight.
- You have a number of separate business systems, usually 3 or more, and much time is spent on porting information between systems.
- Number of employees who need to work on the system is 5 or more, demanding more flexibility from your system.
- Pulling much needed information is increasingly difficult. Your software system is not keeping pace with your business needs.
- Your user's overall satisfaction with current system is less than 75%.
If you have discovered that you are happy with your system - great! It's doing its job. However, if you're experiencing 2 or more of these, odds are you struggle to run your business by patching up your existing system.
Now that banks are tightening their loan criteria, your credit may be at risk for lack of evidence when it comes to reporting business viability. But don't throw in the towel, take a look at upgrading your business software. Get the right software for the size of your organisation.
